元宵节

中国传统节日，在农历正月十五日。元宵节夜晚有观灯、吃元宵的风俗，所以又称灯节、上灯节。

the Lantern Festival (15th of the 1st lunar month), during which, the main activities are to admire the colourful lanterns in the evening and to enjoy sweet dumplings of glutinous rice flour.

元宵

①中国旧历正月十五日夜，称“元宵节”或“上元节。”

龙灯

民间舞蹈用具。用布或纸做成的龙形的灯，灯架由许多环节组成，能自由活动。表演时，每人拿一节，众人同时舞动，用锣鼓配合。

dragon lantern, lantern made of cloth or paper and shaped like a dragon used in folk dance. Its prop consists of several rings which are movable. Every one takes each of them in performance and waves it simultaneously to the accompaniment of gong and drum.

灯谜

贴在灯笼上的谜语，有时也贴在墙上或挂在绳子上。猜灯谜是一种传统的娱乐活动，多在晚上进行。

lantern riddles, sometimes put on the wall or hung on a rope. To guess the lantern riddle is a traditional game, generally held in the evening.
